An excellent level of service
Many venues will advertise themselves as being the perfect destination for business meetings and conferences, but how many actually understand exactly what it is their visitors are looking for?

The National Conference Center in Virginia, USA, conducted a survey to identify what meeting organisers were really looking for in terms of service from their event venues.

One key message that came through from the results was how important “high quality” service was in making an event successful and memorable. Survey respondents said that all venue attendees should be made to feel that they were seen as individuals by the venue staff, and that their visit was valued and important. In fact, the level of service was so important that for many of the respondents it was the main factor that determined whether meeting organisers and event planners remained loyal to a venue and gave it repeat business, or whether they would look for an alternative venue instead.

A choice of flexible meeting rooms
Another factor that survey respondents highlighted as being important in the selection of a conference venue is the availability and flexibility of meeting space.

Glen Erin has a choice of seven different function rooms, ranging from 19m2 to 173m2. The seating in these rooms is very flexible, and can be arranged in a variety of different ways to suit the needs of our clients, such as theatre style, banquet or boardroom.

In terms of delegate numbers, our biggest room, the Vineyard Room, can house 300 delegates if the room is arranged in a cocktail style or 200 delegates in a theatre or banquet seating arrangement.

Facilities and budget
Obviously, cost is an important consideration when selecting a venue for a business meeting or conference. Organisers need to know exactly how much their event is going to cost them, and what will be included as part of that cost.

At Glen Erin, we make it very easy for event organisers to accurately budget for their event by offering premium all inclusive packages. These can be on a day or residential basis, and very clearly set out exactly what is included as part of that package. Of course, if an event requires additional items that are not included automatically as part of the package, then our staff will work closely with event organisers to tailor these packages to their individual requirements.
